METRO MANILA, PHILIPPINES – ZTE Corporation, a global leading ICT solutions provider, announced the launch of its first-ever scholarship program in the Philippines.

It recognized six exceptional students from top universities across the country:

Euneez Lara, BS Information Technology student from UST Jessie Co, graduating BS Civil Engineering student from UST Marc Distor, a graduating Electrical Engineering student from UST Carlos Gomez, an Electronics Engineering student from PUP Rose Dela Cruz, Electronics Engineering student from PUP Mikhail Camacho, a graduating Electronics Engineering student from PUP

The scholarship is a cornerstone of the company’s STAR Industry-Academe Linkage (IALP) Program.

“STAR” stands for “Skills, Talent, Attitude, and Responsibility.” The IALP started in 2022 through a Strategic Cooperation Memorandum of Understanding between ZTE, the University of Santo Tomas, and the Polytechnic University of the Philippines. 

ZTE Philippines Chief Technology Officer Jin Zhi Chao emphasized that the scholarship program aims to “cultivate emerging talents in telecommunications.”

“ZTE will continue to expand our talent pool through collaborations with various educational institutions in the Philippines,” affirmed ZTE Philippines HR Director Liu Feng.

UST Vice-Rector for Finance and Faculty of Engineering Regent, Rev. Fr. Roberto L. Luanzon, O.P., SThD, DL, stated:
